Admit One — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Admit One ("the app") is a personal movie-watching log. This page explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and your choices.
Information you provide
If you create an account, we collect:
- Email address and password — used to sign you in. Passwords are handled securely by our authentication provider (Supabase) and are never visible to us in plain text.
- First name, last name, and username — shown to other Admit One users so they can find and add you as a friend.
Information created by using the app
- Watched films, star ratings, notes, and watch dates — stored so you can track your own film history. If you're signed in, this activity is shared to the in-app Feed, visible to other Admit One users, who can like it.
- Likes — when you like another user's post, that's recorded and visible (as a like count) to other users.
- Friend requests and connections — stored so the app can show you friend requests and your connections. When you accept a friend request, that connection is shared to the in-app Feed as "X and Y became friends," visible to other Admit One users. Pending (not-yet-accepted) requests are private and only visible to the two people involved.
- Watchlist activity — the full list of films on your watchlist is stored only on your device and never sent to our servers. However, when you add a film to your watchlist, a one-time activity note ("[your name] added [film] to their watchlist") is shared to the in-app Feed, visible to other Admit One users.
- Profile photo — stored only on your device (in the app's local storage). It is never uploaded to our servers or shared with other users.
Information from third parties
Film titles, posters, descriptions, and audience scores are retrieved live from The Movie Database (TMDb). No personal information about you is sent to TMDb — only requests for public movie data. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.
What we don't do
- We don't use advertising or analytics trackers.
- We don't sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We don't access your camera or photo library except when you explicitly choose to set a profile picture.
Where your data lives
Account data, watched films, ratings, notes, likes, and friend connections are stored with our backend provider, Supabase. Your full watchlist and profile photo stay only on your own device — only a one-time "added to watchlist" note is sent when you add something.
Your choices
- You can edit your email address at any time from the Profile page.
- You can delete a watched entry ("Unmark as Watched") at any time, which removes it from your history and the Feed.
- To delete your account entirely, contact us at the email below and we'll remove your account and associated data.
